Note: Children may not occupy a bedroom unless accompanied by an adult.  Sorry, no children under  5yrs.  Underdown House is strictly NON- SMOKING and we are unable to cater for guests pets.  Underdown House B&B has a 4-Star Tourist Board grading.

Access Statement

  • This access statement for Underdown House is an honest description of the current situation, which we hope will enable guests to make a decision on how we meet their needs. Underdown House is not suitable for persons dependent on the use of a wheel chair, and may be difficult for those with walking aids.
  • The entrance to the property has a gate which is left open leading to a long drive that is suitable for two vehicles to pass each other.
  • Underdown House stands within its own grounds of four acres, affording ample parking for disabled guests vehicles.
  • The entrance door is via a step which may not be easily accessible for individuals who have difficulties walking.  Although not ideally suited to these guests assistance is always available where necessary including the use of a separate entrance route using double doors on  ground level to gain access.
  • Bedrooms are situated on the first floor with access via a narrow staircase.
  • All bedrooms are ensuite.  Plans are in hand for the addition of grab rails.
  • We have a family room available with double and single bed and room for an extra pull down bed.
  • All rooms are equipped with remote control colour television, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and alarm clocks.
  • Guests personal medicines may be stored and refrigerated where necessary.
  • Guests are provided with a comprehensive Welcome and Information file, which includes details of  local attractions, location of chemists, post offices and shops and garages.
